Held at the Park Plaza, Westminster bridge, it was a glitzy black tie event, everyone looked amazing and there was a dangerously free-flowing supply of fizz, which helped to get the party in full swing (and is always welcome on my watch!)
Not only was it a fantastic excuse for a party but The UK Blog Awards provide a unique opportunity for individual professionals from their sector and companies to be recognised for their social media achievements through blogging. From arts and culture, education to dating, the awards provide recognition, with a chance to network and be inspired by other industry bloggers and connect with brands.
I went along looking forward to doing just that, so was totally surprised and thrilled to walk away with the award for the best dating blog to boot! I was up against some really stiff competition ThirtySomethingLondon and The Naomi Narrative both got highly commended (highly deserved!) and it was fantastic to catch up with them and No Bad Dates, Just Good Stories … who has an equally awesome blog, and was excellent at drinking almost as much Prosecco as me, which makes her a top gal in my books!
We had a fabulous evening and it was a privilege to met so many creative and inspiring bloggers who really understand the importance of blogging in the digital age we live in – all too often I think blogging can still be over-looked as a sideline to ‘more important’ forms of social communication, so to see an event organised so well and with such a great response was really encouraging and a fantastic thing to be a part of.
